Patrick Maina Muriuki, Commissioner

Patrick Maina Muriuki is an accomplished Advocate of The High Court of Kenya with a robust background in corporate law spanning close to a decade. Possessing a comprehensive skill set in corporate law, corporate litigation, team management, leadership, and communication Patrick is well known for his advocacy, persuasion, and contract management expertise. With a career objective centered on delivering results, Patrick ensures streamlined operations and top-flight legal services. He is one of the youngest Commissioners to serve on the Commission.


Patrick's professional journey began as an Advocate Trainee at One & Associates Advocates, where he provided advisory opinions, engaged in litigation, and drafted client contracts. His earlier roles include serving as a Pupil at the State Law Office & Department of Justice, and internships at Joshua Kiarie & Company Advocates and Kandara Principal Magistrate's Court. Previously, he served as a Legal Officer at Nairobi City Water & Sewerage Company since February 2017, where he handled litigation, drafting and reviewing commercial agreements, debt financing, and credit agreements.


Educationally, admitted to the Bar in 2017, Patrick holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa, a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law, and is an accredited mediator by the Strathmore Dispute Resolution Centre. He is also a member of the Law Society of Kenya, a Certificate in Business Management from Kenya Institute of Management.  Patrick is also a co-founder of LegalKenya, an online legal information dissemination platform, showcasing his commitment to legal education and awareness.
