Commissioner Mueni Kalola is a distinguished Advocate of good standing at the Kenyan Bar with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa and a post graduate diploma from the Kenya School of Law. She also holds a Master of Laws (LLM) degree from the University of South Wales, showcasing her commitment to legal education and expertise. She further holds a certificate in copyright law from the prestigious Harvard University’s Berkman Klein Centre and another in General Intellectual Property law from the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).


Beyond her legal achievements, Commissioner Mueni is a published author, contributing significantly to the legal discourse with her book titled "Euthanasia: The Right to Life versus the Right to Die." This publication reflects her intellectual depth and engagement with complex legal and ethical issues. She is also recognized as an accredited mediator by the Strathmore Dispute Resolution Center, demonstrating her commitment to alternative dispute resolution.


Commissioner Mueni has worked in the private sector for more than 10 years including a stint in the banking industry and private practice before her appointment as a Commissioner. She is passionate about music and the creative arts making her a unique legal professional who seamlessly blends traditional legal expertise with a deep appreciation for the arts and commitment to fostering a just and accountable legal system. Her multifaceted approach to life reflects her diverse interests and highlights her ability to excel in various fields contributing to both the academic and practical aspects of law.
